ADA Austrian Development Agency

The Austrian Development Agency (ADA) is the operational unit of the Austrian Development Cooperation and Cooperation with Eastern Europe (ADC). The ADA is responsible for the implementation of all bilateral programmes and projects in the ADC partner countries and administrates the corresponding budget.

Spain

AECID

The Spanish International Cooperation Agency for Development (AECID) is placed under the supervision of the Ministry of foreign affairs through the State Secretariat for International Cooperation. It is the entity in charge of promotion, management and execution of the Spanish international cooperation policy for development. Thus, its objectives, beneficiaries and finalities are those of the Spanish cooperation : poverty reduction, promotion of durable human development in the developing countries, particularly those designated in the Master Plan established every four years.

France

Agence Française de Développement AFD

The French Development Agency (AFD), a financial institution, is the central actor for implementation of the Development Assistance policy of France. Thanks to the broad line of financial tools, AFD supports public authorities, the private sector and local networks, to implement a wide range of social and economic projects. AFD is present on five continents and in Overseas France. AFD’s actions in favour of economic and social growth directly aim at achieving the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs). AFD also contributes to the preservation of Global Public Goods and can provide support in crisis situations. The Agency is also developing financial and intellectual partnerships with other donors and participates to the global debates in the area of development.

Belgium

BTC - CTB

BTC is the Belgian development cooperation agency. It was established in 1998 as a public-law company with social purposes. Its relations with the Belgian State are set down in a management contract. As a public service provider, and on behalf of the Belgian Government, BTC supports developing countries in their fight against poverty. Thanks to her field expertise BTC also provides services on behalf of other national and international organisations contributing to sustainable human development.
BTC is managing more than 200 programs in 25 countries in Africa, Asia and Latin America. With a turnover in 2007 of 213 million euros, BTC is employing 420 staff, 160 of them at headquarters in Brussels and 260 in partner countries. BTC has 21 representations abroad.

Czech Republic

Czech Development Agency

The Czech Development Agency (CzDA) was established in 2007 by a decision of the Czech Minister of Foreign Affairs. It has taken over the activities of the Czech Development Center which ceased to exist at the end of 2007. The newly established Agency is in charge of implementing the Czech development cooperation. CzDA is responsible for identifying, evaluating and implementing projects in priority countries. It finances investments as well as capacity enhancement, with subsidies from the MFA.

United Kingdom

DFID

The Department for International Development (DFID) is the part of the UK Government that manages Britain's aid to poor countries and works to get rid of extreme poverty. It is headed by a Cabinet minister, one of the senior ministers in the Government. This reflects how important the Government sees reducing poverty around the world. It has two headquarters (in London and East Kilbride, near Glasgow) and 64 offices overseas. DFID also has over 2500 staff, almost half of whom work abroad.

European Commission

EuropeAid Co-operation Office

The Commission’s EuropeAid co-operation office is the Directorate-General of the European Commission that is responsible for implementing external aid programmes and projects across the world. EuropeAid's main mission is to implement the Commission’s external aid instruments, both those funded by the Union’s budget and the European Development Fund. It works closely with EU neighbouring countries, Russia, the African, Caribbean and Pacific (ACP) regions, Latin America and Asia. EuropeAid aims to deliver development aid in an efficient and effective way. The focus is on maximising the value and impact of aid funding by making sure support is provided in a speedy and accountable fashion.

Lux-Development is the Luxembourg Agency for Development Cooperation.

Polish Aid is the name of assistance programme carried out by Development Cooperation Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Poland. The Ministry has a coordinating function in the field of development activities. The Department is responsible both for planning and implementation of Polish aid.
