Members of the network

The Network is open to all European Agencies and Administrations involved in the implementation of ODA.

Its current members are the implementing organisations of the European Commission and of European countries representing over 70% of the ODA of the European Union.

Activities

We have identified a limited number of broad issues which we have considered relevant for collaboration between practitioners on a relatively long term. This is why we have created 4 thematic groups. Thematic groups propose joint works on specific issues within their domain and coordinate other initiatives related to that overall theme.

But our activities are not limited to the already defined themes. We want to remain flexible and the Network can support any initiative or request by one member to organise meetings, workshops, secondments or whatever solution to work together on a particular issue or project which is relevant for European development practitioners.

2010/2011 Annual Report of the Network

The Network's Annual Report was issued in May 2011 and gives information about Network Membership, Network Management, Network Activities, Financial Aspects and the Way Ahead. 

The Annual Meeting 2012 on April 19-20 will be hosted by LuxDev.

Last Core Group meeting

A core group meeting was held on 22 November 2011 in Brussels.  The main topics were the event the Network organises during the EDD in Poland 2011, and the governance structure/strategic orientation of the Network.

Training on Delegated Cooperation, 28 November 2011 in Brussels

On 28 November 2011 representatives of the European Commission (DEVCO R 3) gave a well-received training workshop on Delegation Cooperation in the Practitioners' premises in Brussels, covering background and principles of delegated cooperation as well as delegation agreements in practice. 27 practitioners from 10 different organisations attended the workshop.  

Workshop on Mediterranean Cooperation, organised by AECID, 25 October 2011 in Brussels

The well-attended workshop gathered participants from 8 different European agencies. Objectives of the WS were: a) the agencies will inform each other about respective projects, strategies and reflexions about future actions/positioning in the region, b) identification of common issues c) an informal exchange about possible collaboration / complementarities between agencies.

Strengthening Implementation of the EU Gender Equality Action Plan: Workshop on 23 March 2011

The Practitioners' Network for European Development Cooperation, One World Action, and the European Commission organised a well-attended Workshop in Brussels: 30 participants from 22 different countries and organisations shared existing good practice around implementation of the Plan, and wider lessons about how to strengthen gender equality outcomes in development cooperation.
