The Practitioners Network has made it possible for European development institutions to get more familiar with each other, to organise common activities and to establish a closer relationship.
An additional instrument permitting to develop the relations between Practitioners, to know each other better and to carry out joint activities could be staff secondment, or joint training seminars.
Partnering institutions do not necessarily have to establish an institutionalised staff exchange, such as e.g. between AFD and KfW. Secondment can be for a short time, informal and focused on just one specific topic. Many different options can be imagined: The secondment can be for a few days or for several weeks. There can be unilateral secondments, exchanges on a bilateral basis (i.e. only include 2 institutions) or consisting of a tour of several institutions.
To this end, a market place for staff exchange, accessible to all Network members, is opened here on the Network website. Demands and offers for short-term secondments or exchange of staff, as well as the training programmes of all member institutions of the Network can be communicated to the Network e-mail address and will be posted on this page.
In order to guarantee a flexible functioning of this proposal, a common understanding of the modalities such as financing of the cost, assurance etc. has to be agreed:
